Happy Monday, my DIY stenciling friends! If you happened to be out and about this past weekend, I'm sure you couldn't miss the multitude of garage sales, moving sales, and yard sales. In fact, tis' the season to be thrifty shopping! And we here at Cutting Edge Stencils just love a good thrifty find. Why, you might ask? Well, because the best part about these local junk extravaganzas is uncovering those hidden gems, like a gorgeous pieces of furniture that can be painted and stenciled.

Now we've always been fond of stenciling furniture. In fact, it's been featured on the blog Paint, Stencil, Upcyle! and Vintage Chic Stenciled Furniture. But more recently we've noticed an exciting new trend that is sure to have you tickled pink and green with envy. Drum roll please! Today we're talking about stenciling those thrifty finds in COLOR!!!

Last week this gorgeous green beauty popped up on our Facebook page from Imperfectly Perfect Redesigned Furniture. They said, "Here is the "Jolly Green Giant" Reveal...Finally!!! It was originally going to be a very rustic, antiqued green, super distressed, but I wasn't feeling it. SO it sat on my patio while I did one project after another. Then I knew I had to finish it because it was the piece I needed the most (All my Gymboree clothes were sitting in bags). So this is what I came up with and I am L.O.V.I.N.G it!!!" So are WE! We love the purple and green color combination and the unique look the Nagoya Stencil adds to the piece. After seeing the green Nagoya Stenciled dresser, we started to keep our eyes on the lookout for other colorfully stenciled pieces of furniture. And we realized Imperfectly Perfect Redesigned Furniture had done it again! This time using a mustard shade of yellow and the Casablanca Stencil they transformed an old end table into this little ray of sunshine! Obviously Imperfectly Perfect Redesigned Furniture has no fear of stenciling in color! So it didn't surprise us that they had also created this snazzy piece. Using an old table they painted the base a bold blue and then stenciled the Chevron Craft Stencil in a fun green and white zig zag stripe! We think it's simply stripe-tastic! Love Chevron? Now they're not the only ones bringing the color game to town! Meet Deanna, the clever crafter behind deeConstructed. She bought this awesome little hutch from Goodwill for $3.99. Don't you just love thrifty finds!! She then decided it was time to give it a colorful makeover. Using sea blue paint and our Fuji Allover Stencil she transformed it into this work of art! Now this might be one of my personal favorites because I have a passion for old trunks. I instantly fell in love with Dora the Restorer, from ReUse, RePurpose, Upcycle and her amazing ability to transform old furniture using paint, stencils, and bold colors. Dora had a tongue and groove cedar trunk that was a decent size but was oh so boring. She said, "To liven it up I painted it chartreuse on the outside and raspberry on the inside. Then added the wow factor with these big bold peonies." We love the WOW factor that the stenciled Tree Peonies bring to this treasure chest, don't YOU?!
