Stencils Can Create DIY Custom Furniture
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils fans. Are you looking for a simple weekend project? Well then you have come to the right spot. You see that castaway piece of furniture that you snatched up for practically nothing? Today is the day to give it a makeover using one of our
furniture stencils.
Painting furniture is a quick and easy weekend project that will bring a fresh dose of color to your home. Come check out the two stenciled furniture ideas.
We'd like to introduce Anam, the creative DIYers behind the blog
Delicious and DIY. Anam had spotted a hidden gem for $10 while she was shopping. The storage cabinet was beat-up but Anam knew that she could bring it back to life. The first thing she did was paint it using Velvet Finishes Exotic, a beautiful coral color. After the paint was dry, Anam decided to add a pattern. She browsed our site and said "I chose the
Ikat Samarkand Allover Stencil because firstly I have an undying love for anything Ikat." She chose to stencil the Ikat pattern using Velvet Finished Boheme, a delicious blue that would really stand out against the coral. She used painter's tape to hold the pattern in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern. To complete the cabinet makeover, Anam spray painted the knobs gold. She commented, "The blue and the coral and the stencil, Ahh I think my job here done." If you want a chance to win a free stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils then enter the giveaway on

Next we'd like to introduce Jen, the furniture makeover guru from
Girl In The Garage. Jen snagged a small castaway table at a yard sale. It had potential! Jen chose the
Indian Inlay Stencil Kit for this piece. She used painter's tape to hold the pattern in place and a stencil brush to paint the pattern in white. Jen had this to say about her project, "I really love that with this stencil anyone can make Indian Inlay style furniture for a fraction of the cost of the super expensive furniture made with real bones. " We think her castaway table looks stunning! Oh and we love how she stenciled the side of the drawers.
