Stencils Give A Small Table Standout Style
Stencil Designs Give A Small Table Standout Style
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends. If your black furniture is to be boring and drab, then you're going to love today's project. All it takes to freshen up a piece of furniture is paint, our
furniture stencils, and a dash of creativity. A
pretty stencil pattern can instantly add a dose of personality and style to this lackluster piece. We're are excited to share a console table makeover using the
Portuguese Tile Stencil Kit that is sure to inspire. Remember to pin now, so you can complete it later!
We'd like to welcome back Anam, the creative DIYer and furniture makeover queen behind the blog
Delicious and DIY. Anam loves all things DIY and her blog is a little gem for furniture makeover projects. She had a small console table and this is what the console table looked like before she gave it a stenciled makeover.
This little black table was actually in great condition. It was a bit dusty but there was nothing wrong with it. If you follow her blog, you'll notice that Anam is not a fan of dark colored furniture which is why she chose to give it a makeover. Once she got her hands on this little beauty it was destined to be painted a colorful hue! The first thing she did was paint it using DecoArt Outdoor Living in Coral. This beautiful light coral hue was the perfect color to brighten the console table. After the fresh coat of paint was dry she was ready for the fun part,
stenciling! Anam had browsed our new
tile stencil collection and fell in love with the
Portuguese Tile Stencil. This stencil kit includes five traditional Portuguese Azulejos tile designs in one amazing collection.
She positioned the tile
stencil pattern on the top of the table and it fit perfectly! Then she painted the pattern using DecoArt Outdoor Living paints in Metallic Gold Cream.
If you're trying to recreate this, pour your paint onto a plate or paint tray. Dip your stencil brush into the paint. Brush off the excess paint onto your folded paper towel until the brush looks almost dry. The key to stenciling is using as little paint as possible. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge. Painter's tape can help hold the stencil in place. Next you will paint the design onto the table with the stencil brush. Once the pattern is complete, you'll need to reposition the stencil to complete the design. Simply pick up the stencil, align it, and continue painting the pattern.
To finish the project, Anam painted the hardware in the same metallic gold. Once the painted table was dry, she placed the painted hardware back onto the table. Are you ready to see what it looks like today? Here is her stenciled console table!
We absolutely love how Anam's table turned out! She had this to say about the project, " It really is one bright and cheery transformation!."
