The Roses Stencil Blooms on DIY Projects

Stenciled Home Decor Projects Using the Roses Allover Stencil

Welcome back, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. We spent the weekend tending to our garden and it appears that the Roses Allover Stencil is in full bloom! We are excited to share not one, but TWO home decor projects featuring this popular flower stencil. Come take a look... Erinn is the proud mama to two girls, Kenley and Ashlynn. Awhile back she had given Kenley's closet a makeover and more recently she decided to add some character to Ashlynn's closet. After brainstorming what to do to make the space stand out, she chose to stencil it. The bedroom was painted in Benjamin Moore's classic gray so she felt a bright hue, like radiant orchid, would be perfect for the stenciled closet. Erinn selected the Roses Allover Stencil, a popular flower pattern. She used painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and painted the floral stencil pattern using a dense foam roller. Once the stencil was complete, Erinn decorated and organized the closet with a white clothing bar, decorative mirror, and striped baskets. We think the Roses Stencil truly blossoms in this little girl's room. Next we'd like you to meet Karen Marie, the creative gal behind the blog Dragonfly & Lily Pads. Karen Marie wanted to enter into a fun blogger contest called, Furniture Flipping. She had an old desk that needed a makeover. Since her mother and grandmother always loved roses but were allergic to the scent, she decided to incorporate the beautiful flower. She said, " The roses remind me of their tremendous influence on my creativity." With a goal in mind, Karen Marie chose our Roses Allover Stencil. To kick-off the project, she washed the surface and added two coats of Vintage White Chalk Paint. Then she taped the floral stencil to the top of the desk and painted it Nantucket Sea Spray using a dense foam roller. After the stencil was dry, Karen Marie applied a clear wax for protection. She commented, " I am very pleased that I took this challenge to change this drab desktop into a Fab piece of furniture. Now when I work in my craft room they will be right there with me, inspiring me each day."
