A Hollywood Regency Bedroom Makeover
Stencils Add Glitz and Glam To A Master Bedroom Makeover
Good morning, my sleeping beauties! Today
Cutting Edge Stencils wants to chat about an emerging design trend called, Hollywood Regency. Oh, we know this glitzy and glam design style has been around since the 1930's but a modern version is surging in popularity. Going Hollywood Regency is all about the details, like the luxe fabrics, delicate patterns, lacquered furniture, and chandeliers with crystals. Come take a look at gorgeous master bedroom makeover that captures the essence of this glamorous style.
We'd like you to meet Carol, the creative DIYer behind the blog
The Polka Dot Closet. Carol hadn't given her bedroom a makeover in about ten years. This is what it looked like before:
It was a lovely space but Carol needed a change. She just wasn't sure what style she wanted for her makeover. Then she stumbled on this mirrored side table and knew Hollywood Regency was IT!
The first thing Carol did was paint her bedroom a silver blue called Mountain Air by Sherwin Williams. Then she considered adding a wallpapered accent wall behind her bed but once she started researching wallpaper costs, she quickly decided against it. Wallpaper is super expensive and a nuisance to put up. So you imagine her excitement when she stumbled upon our stencils. Carol said, " I found a much cheaper option to wallpaper... a stencil. I was thrilled when I found this great Art Deco stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils." The stencil that Carol fell in love with is our
Rachel's Garden Allover pattern, an art nouveau inspired design. She used blue painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and she painted the pattern in a soft shimmery silver.
After the stencil was complete, Carol added the final decorating touches to complete her Hollywood Regency inspired look. Ready to see how her bedroom makeover turned out? Here is the finished room.
Carol had this to say about her bedroom makeover, " I think I'll put on my silk pajamas, grab a martini and lounge in my bedroom!"
We love how her mirrored side table looks against the stenciled accent wall!
