Cutting Edge Stencils Presents A Contemporary Home Tour
Stencil Patterns In High Contrasting Colors Enhance A Contemporary Home
Welcome back, my home decor enthusiasts! In the past, Cutting Edge Stencils has shared with you how much we enjoy taking a sneak peek into stenciled homes. It might be a bit voyeuristic but we truly enjoy seeing how people pair colors and patterns to create their stunning spaces. Sometimes we come across a playfully eclectic home, like Meg's home in this post, other times we spot a home full of bold pattern, like Kelle and Nick's in this post. Let's take a peek through the windows a of contemporary home using our stencils...
We'd like you to meet Patryk Steven Espinosa and Dale William Hawtin, the interior decorators with an eye for style from Steven Williams Interiors. Today we're going to take a walk through their two bedroom townhome in Oakville, Canada. According to Patryk, "The town home was designed to evoke a bold contemporary feel with lots of dark woods, gray, black and white tones throughout the space. The home is quite small so attention to lighting, scale and use of mirror/lucite was key." He goes on to add, "Your gorgeous stencils certainly are a major part of these spaces and we get amazing reactions from everyone that tours the space."
Our first peek is at the bedroom. The duo kept a consistent color palette of gray, black and white throughout the home. To add some visual interest to the bedroom, an accent wall was painted using our modern Ikat Zig Zag Stencil. Recreate this look by painting your wall in Benjamin Moore's simply white OC-117 and then stenciling the chevron pattern in mopboard black CW-680. Absolutely gorgeous! Let's swing into the office next. This time the couple painted the office a soothing, warm gray hue, similar to Benjamin Moore's revere pewter HC-172. Then to enhance the space, they stenciled our popular Shipibo Allover Stencil in white. For a pop of color, mustard yellow accents were added around the office. We love how Patryk and Dale played with pattern in their space yet kept a consistent color palette. Before we let you go, we also want to show you their living room which features pretty pillows with an ikat pattern. While Patryk and Dale kept this space filled with neutral gray tones, they've added in a subtle dose of pattern using the pillows. You could easily replicate these pillows by stenciling pillow covers using our Ikat Samarkand Stencil and Martha Stewart's All-Purpose craft paint. Think about how easy it would be to swap out pillows throughout the year using your favorite patterns! And that my DIY friends, is the end of our tour!
