Decorating a Bedroom With Stencils

Stencils Can Give Your Bedroom a Stylish Pick Me Up

Wake up, my stencil loving sleepyheads. If your bedroom is feeling a bit blah then it's time to redecorate. Cutting Edge Stencils suggests creating an accent wall using a stencil pattern. Sure, a room can look stylish and chic without an accent wall. But once you add such a concentrated splash of color and pattern, you'll take the design to a bold new level. Today we're sharing a stenciled bedroom accent wall using our Sophia Trellis Allover Stencil. Kristi has been redecorating her bedroom with one DIY project at a time. After successfully completing two small stencil projects, Kristi was ready to go big! She decided to stencil a nook within her bedroom using our Sophia Trellis Allover Stencil, one of our newer Moroccan stencil designs. Remember this space? Stenciling a bedroom nook with a Sophia Trellis stencil pattern. http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/products/sophia-trellis-stencil-geometric-wall-pattern After stenciling Kristi had commented, "I love the look it adds to this little nook in our bedroom." With one project off her DIY to-do list, Kristi was now focused on creating an accent wall behind her bed. She knew she wanted to carry over the pattern in some way to help tie the whole room together. That's when her husband stepped in with a brilliant idea! He recommended painting the wall a dark gray and then stenciling the area above the bed, a reverse color combination from what she used in the nook. First Kristi painted the wall a dark gray. Then she outlined the space directly above her bed frame where she planned to stencil. Using blue painter's tape to hold the Sophia Trellis Allover Stencil in place, Kristi painted the pattern with a dense foam roller. She also used our handy-dandy clip-on stencil level to ensure the stencil was straight on the wall. Kristi raves about this clever little tool, "The level was especially helpful since I was starting at the center point of the wall." Ready to see how it all turned out?
