Stencil Designs Are A Budget Friendly Way To Add Interest To A Plain Wall

We'd like you to welcome back Greg, one of the Cutting Edge Stencils owners and a creative DIYer. Greg has been at it again! He spotted a white wall and felt compelled to paint a stencil pattern on it! Wallpaper can be a hassle to install and very expensive so a Moroccan inspired stencil pattern, like the Taj Mahal Stencil is a great option.
For those who love tutorials, Greg has put together this quick video using one of our Moroccan wall stencils. In this instructional video, Greg shows fans how easy it is to stencil an accent wall using this trendy wall pattern.
Let's walk through the steps for completing this project. Greg started with a freshly painted white wall. To create an interesting accent wall, he decided to use our modern trellis wall pattern.
Greg was ready to start stenciling once he had his Moroccan trellis inspired stencil in his hand. He carefully taped the stencil to the wall. Then he used the clip-on stencil level to ensure the pattern was even on the wall. We love this handy tool when completing a wall project. He used a two inch dense foam roller to paint the pattern in a neutral gray hue.
Greg made sure he rolled off any excess paint on a piece of paper towel. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed. Once the entire design was painted, he carefully removed the Taj Mahal Stencil from the wall to reveal the design. Seeing the painted pattern is always the fun part!
Since the wall was not complete, Greg lined up the stencil underneath the previously painted pattern. Our stencil designs make overlapping the previously painted part easy. For this particular pattern, the top row of the design overlaps the previously painted section. Once that is lined up, you can continue to paint the design.
After it was lined up and taped to the wall, he continued to paint the stylish Taj Mahal wall pattern.
When the wall was complete, Greg added some stylish touches to his newly stenciled space. He then stepped back to admire the Taj Mahal wall pattern. Are you ready to see his accent wall? We thought so!
