Stencils Are An Easy DIY Solution To Freshen Up A Space For Spring

Good morning, my spring song birds! Cutting Edge Stencils is starting to feel a little spring fever. We love watching the flowers bloom, the sun shine, and hearing the birds chirp. And do you know what they're chirping about today? Spring cleaning! Nope the traditional type of clearing out the dust bunnies in the closet sort of spring cleaning. We're talking about an easy DIY solution to freshen up your space using paint and stencils. Let's take a look at a spring-inspired bathroom makeover that a little birdie shared with us! We'd like you to meet Meredith, the creative DIYer from Newberry Sykes. Not too long ago, Meredith was getting a little stir-crazy from the harsh winter weather. Parts of her home felt dreary and drab. She decided to kick-start spring in her home by freshening up her space with paint and adding a stenciled pattern. The first project on her list was her bathroom. Here is a before shot of the bathroom: We can totally see why it was the perfect candidate for a spring makeover. Meredith removed the old medicine cabinet since they weren't using it and chose to paint the bathroom using Para Paint's Dancing Dolphins (P5212-14). Then she selected our Zamira Allover Stencil, one of our most popular Moroccan stencil patterns. Meredith decided to paint the intricate pattern in Para Paints Gray Whale (P5212-24), a beautiful shade of gray. She used painters tape to keep her stencil in position while she traced the stencil design and our clip-on stencil level to ensure her stencil was placed evenly on the wall. She had this to say about her stencil tool, "Check out the fancy level that clips onto the stencil below. I thought that was brilliant and it really helped me to make sure the pattern was perfect." Here she is working through the process. Are you ready to see how a dose of spring, in the form of paint and stencils, transformed this bathroom? This is Meredith's gorgeous stenciled bathroom. She added some white shelving to hold towels and soaps, but she tried to leave it as open as possible to let the stencil shine. And this is a close-up of the gorgeous stencil work. Notice how she covered up that old black drain pipe using a sisal rope. She wrapped and glued the sisal rope around the pipe until it was completely covered. It hides the eye sore and gives it a beachy feel. Meredith says, "I am thrilled with how happy this room makes me now.
