Polka Dot Stencils Make A Nursery Look Adorable!

Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils fans. We understand that decorating the nursery for the tiniest member of your home can be a big task. A painted stencil design can make this task a bit easier because stencil patterns can add character and depth to the space. Since it takes lots of imagination and inspiration to pull the space together, we are sharing an adorable pink and white polka dot themed space that is sure to fuel the decorating fire. Let's take a look...

Pink & White Nursery Using

We'd like to welcome back Karen, the proud mama and creative DIYer behind the blog A House Full of Sunshine. Karen is the happy mom of two little boys. When she found out she was expecting a little girl, she was tickled pink. They decided to move the two boys into the same bedroom and give nursery to the new baby. Unfortunately, the nursery's old tenant left a blue accent wall. Karen craved some pink so the first thing she did was paint the accent wall a pretty powder pink. She also knew that she wanted big white polka dots but after searching high and low but couldn't find a wallpaper she liked. Whether you are adding pattern to a whole room or just an accent wall, it's easy to get the look of designer wallpaper with our interlocking wallpaper stencils. Finally she found our Polka Dot Allover Stencil and decided to stencil the dots herself. Karen used painters tape to adhere the stencil to the wall and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern. She also used our clip-on stencil level to ensure the pattern was positioned on the wall correctly. Then she painted the circular pattern in a white hue, similar to Benjamin Moore's Simply White. Karen said, "The secret to avoiding bleeding underneath the stencil is to use quite a "dry" roller. So you load it with paint, and then roll off all the excess on a paper towel. It means the layers go on quite light, so you will have to roll over the same section a few times to get good coverage." Here's a shot of her working through the stencil process. She had this to say about her newly stenciled space, "The polka-dot wall created a sweet dolls-house feel for the room, exactly the effect I was after.." We think it's absolutely adorable!
