Stenciling A Sweet And Sophisticated Nursery
Wall Patterns Make Nursery Decorating Fun!
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Nursery decorating can be so much fun.
Modern design elements, like a wall stencil pattern, and a pretty feminine color palette can create a sweet and sophisticated space for your newborn. Let's take a look at a nursery design that effortlessly combines a feminine color combination with a subtle moroccan stencil pattern. We are simply in love with how our Rabat Allover Stencil was painted in this sweet space.
We'd like to introduce Carol Lang, an Interior Decorator and the DIY mastermind behind
Carol Lang Interiors. Carol is a Mom of three boys and therefore her home is filled with trucks, ninja swords, and lots of blue! She was contacted by a Client requesting a nursery design for their baby girl. Carol jumped at the chance to experiment with a purple color palette and feminine decor accessories. The room started out as a guest bedroom. Here is what it looked like:
Carol put together a sweet and sophisticated plan to transform this dull guest bedroom into a dreamy nursery. Her nursery design included a
Moroccan wall pattern. A
stencil design is a great way to add visual interest and depth to a space without breaking the piggy bank. Carol browsed our website and selected the
Rabat Allover Stencil. This trendy Moroccan can achieve a wallpaper look and is perfect for adding subtle pattern to a nursery wall.
With her stencil in hand, Carol was ready to start
stenciling. She painted the room a lighter mid-tone purple similar to Benjamin Moore's Lily Lavender 2071-60. She used blue painter's tape to hold the
stencil design in place and she painted the pattern in a creamy white similar to Benjamin Moore Simply White OC_117. After each section was complete, she would untape the stencil and reposition to finish the pattern on the accent wall behind the crib. For more information on how to stencil, we recommend viewing our
stencil tutorials.
After the accent wall was stenciled, Carol added whimsical shaped mirrors to help reflect light and pattern, air plants for a touch of nature, a mustard painted dresser, and ruffled crib bedding. Are you ready to see how Carol's vision turned out? Here is the stenciled nursery.
Carol had this to say about the nursery project, " Air plants on the walls add even more life to the space, as does a Moroccan-inspired stencil in white on the wall behind the crib." We love the subtle pattern. It adds depth and texture to this sweet nursery space.
We love the sweet feminine color combination that she chose for this subtle Moroccan
wall stencil pattern.
