Craft Halloween Coasters Using Stencils
See How To Make DIY Coasters Using Halloween Stencil Patterns
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! As Halloween creeps upon us, we want to give the guests at your Halloween festivities something to chatter about! Our Halloween stencil designs can easily dress up your ghoulish decor. Stenciled coasters are fun, easy, and super inexpensive to craft. Let's take a look at this wickedly easy project.
Erika, our in-house craft guru, decided to put her spell-binding touch on a set of DIY Halloween coasters. Here is a quick video showing how she completed this project. She scooped up plain white tiles for sixteen cents each at Home Depot. She placed the tiles on her crafting table and started the project. She coated the tiles with STIX primer in white. This would help create the perfect foundation for her stencil. When the primer was dry, Erika painted the tiles using Benjamin Moore orange paint. Now Erika was ready for the fun part, stenciling! For this project, Erika wanted to use a combination of Halloween Stencils and patterns painted in traditional Halloween colors. She chose to use our small Spider Craft Stencil, medium Pumpkin Craft Stencil, Paisley Card Stencil, and Harlequin Card Stencil. To help keep the stencils in place, Erika used Sticky Note Spray adhesive on the back of them. Erika let the spray adhesive tack up on the back of the stencil and then placed it on the painted board. She used a two inch dense foam roller to paint the little spider pattern in Benjamin Moore black paint. Erika made sure she rolled off any excess paint on a piece of paper towel. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed. Once the entire design was painted, Erika lifted the stencil back to reveal the pattern. For each pattern Erika varied the color scheme between orange, white and black. When all four coasters were stenciled, she used a hot glue gun to attach a piece of felt to the bottom of the tile. OK, are you ready to see how her stenciled Halloween coasters turned out? This easy Halloween craft is boo-tiful! This Halloween craft is not only easy and inexpensive but it's also boo-tiful!
