Erika, our in-house craft guru, decided to put her spell-binding touch on a set of DIY Halloween coasters. Here is a quick video showing how she completed this project. She scooped up plain white tiles for sixteen cents each at Home Depot. She placed the tiles on her crafting table and started the project. She coated the tiles with STIX primer in white. This would help create the perfect foundation for her stencil. For this project, Erika wanted to use a combination of Halloween Stencils and patterns painted in traditional Halloween colors. She chose to use our small Spider Craft Stencil, medium Pumpkin Craft Stencil, Paisley Card Stencil, and Harlequin Card Stencil. To help keep the stencils in place, Erika used Sticky Note Spray adhesive on the back of them. She used a two inch dense foam roller to paint the little spider pattern in Benjamin Moore black paint. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed. Once the entire design was painted, Erika lifted the stencil back to reveal the pattern. When all four coasters were stenciled, she used a hot glue gun to attach a piece of felt to the bottom of the tile. OK, are you ready to see how her stenciled Halloween coasters turned out?
