Use Wall Stencils To Make Easy and Affordable Custom Artwork

Welcome back, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. You don't need to be a fine artist to handcraft a custom piece of artwork. Simply grab a blank canvas and use our stencil patterns to create your own work of art. Today we're sharing how to make canvas artwork using a stencil design. Come take a look at how our Passion Mandala Stencil can be used for custom artwork. We'd like to welcome back Tia, the creative DIYer behind the blog She Has Good Genes. You might remember her amazing bedroom makeover using our stencil on an accent wall. It's so pretty, right? Well she's once again completing DIY decor projects using our stencil designs. Tia had a blank wall in her office. She wanted to fill it with artwork but couldn't commit to a piece. That's when she decided to put her DIY talents to good use and stencil her own canvas art. Tia browsed our large Mandala Stencil Collection and selected the Passion Mandala pattern. This intricate pattern is easy to use and looks beautiful. Tia started with two blank canvases that were about 24" x 36". Then she painted her background using acrylic craft paint in Yellow, Fuschia, and Charcoal. Tia said, "I was going for a rough, sort of rustic-looking sunset." With her gorgeous Mandala pattern in hand she was ready for the fun part, stenciling! Tia chose to use the 36" half medallion for this project. She placed it on top of the canvas. She poured her paint into the paint dish and then evenly loaded the dense foam roller with white paint. Tia made sure she rolled off any excess paint on a piece of paper towel. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed. Then she painted the mandala design. Once the entire design was painted, Tia lifted the stencil back to reveal the pattern. Then she hung her stenciled artwork in her office. Isn't it so pretty? We love how simple this project was to complete and how pretty it looks hanging on the wall. Tia commented, "So there you have it! A beautiful, custom piece that is super easy to create!"
