Wall Stencils Can Easily Create A Faux Brick Walkway
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Did you know that our
stencil patterns can easily assist with any budget friendly DIY project? Yup it's true! Our
stencil designs can make your DIY projects easy and your decorating dreams come true. Today we are sharing a stenciled faux brick cement walkway using our
Herringbone Brick Allover Stencil. Come take a look and be totally inspired!
We'd like to welcome back Susanna, a creative DIYer with a passion for budget friendly decor and the blogger behind
Livin the Life of Riley. Susanna and her husband planned to focus on the exterior of their home. They had a long list of DIY projects, one of which included enhancing the walkway. Unfortunately, removing the current walkway and replacing it with stone or brick was not at an option. But Susanna is extremely clever and decided to paint the walkway to give it a faux brick look using a
stencil pattern! She browsed our large collection of
geometric stencils for a brick pattern and selected our
Herringbone Brick Stencil. This trendy pattern makes hand-crafting a faux brick pattern super easy.
The first thing Susanna did was power wash the walkway to remove any dirt or debris. She let it dry over night and began the
stenciling the next day.
She painted the traditional brick pattern in Sherwin Williams Brick Red. She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern. Here she is working through the process.
Susanna explains on her blog how she gave the pattern some depth using a kitchen sponge so be sure to visit
Livin the Life of Riley for the complete tutorial.
After each section was complete, Susanna would un-tape the stencil and reposition so she could paint the entire cement walkway.
Once the stencil was complete, Susanna stepped back to enjoy her stencil project. Are you ready to see how this all turned out? Here is her gorgeous faux brick walkway.
Susanna had this to say about her project, "My love for stencils continues to grow! I cannot believe how much it boosted our curb appeal, of course some fresh mulch didn't hurt."
We think Susanna did an amazing job on her walkway and we love how she utilizes stencils in her budget friendly projects! Please visit her blog,
