Stencil A Pegboard For Your Command Center
Learn How To Stencil A Pegboard Using Geometric Stencils
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends! From a home office to a family command center, pegboards are perfect for organizing a space. Besides keeping clutter intact, these simple items can be pretty darn stylish too. Paint and
stencil patterns can instantly upgrade standard pegboard. Come take a look at how one DIY blogger styled her pegboard with a
stencil design.
We'd like to you to meet Jenna, the designer and creative blogger behind
Jenna Burger Design. Jenna's goal is to inspire others through do-it-yourself decorating projects that create a high end look for less. We love Jenna! We also love the new command center that she created for her home. Jenna was in the process of giving her workstation a mini makeover. She decided the space needed a pegboard to help organize it. She picked up a basic 2 foot by 4 foot pegboard from Lowes. To see how she built the frame and pulled this project together, please read her complete
tutorial. We're going to focus on the stenciling part! Once the pegboard was primed and painted a beige hue, Jenna decided to kick it up a notch. She said, " I couldn’t stop myself and thought it would be really fun + unique to jazz it up even more, so I added a pretty stencil design." Then she browsed our large collection of stencils and decided the
Tuscan Trellis Allover Stencil was perfect for her pegboard project. This beautiful
geometric pattern is based on classic Mediterranean ironwork.
With her
trellis stencil pattern in hand, Jenna was ready to makeover her pegboard. She used blue painter's tape to adhere the stencil to the painted canvas. Then she painted the stencil pattern in white using a dense foam roller. If you are recreating this project at home, be sure to roll off extra paint so it doesn't bleed under the stencil. The key to stenciling is using very little paint.
After the pegboard was completely stenciled, she lifted to reveal the pretty pattern. When her project was finished, Jenna completed her work station command center.
Ready to see how it all turned out? Here is her space showing off her stenciled pegboard. Jenna had this to say about her stencil project
, “Pretty cool, right?! And super simple. Pegboards are THE BEST organizational component for any room in the house AND they can be jazzed up to look great for all decor styles.”
