Our floor stencils can offer a quick and easy solution for adding exotic flair to any type of floor. Using paint and a stencil pattern you can give your floor a personalized look. Today we’re going to share a hardwood floor makeover that was enhanced with our Ambrosia Tile Stencil. Come take a look... We'd like to introduce Weaber Lumber, one of the nation's leading hardwood manufacturers located in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The creative crew over at Weaber Lumber use their in-house showroom to share clever ways to dress up hardwood. If you've been browsing Instagram or Pinterest lately then we're sure that you've spotted a stenciled floor because it's one of the hottest DIY decorating trends around. So it's no surprise that the folks at Weaber Lumber were inspired to test it out on hardwood. They browsed our large collection of tile stencils and selected our Ambrosia Moroccan Tile Stencil. This Moroccan pattern brings exotic flair to any floor or wall. The first thing they did was clean the wood floor to ensure there wasn't any debris. This floor was made from Weaber Lumber 2 1/4” Red Oak Select Shorts. With the tile stencil in hand, they were ready to start stenciling! They used painters tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern in Charcoal Grey from Behr. Lift to reveal the pretty painted pattern! After each section was complete, they would un-tape the stencil and reposition so the entire floor would be painted. If you are recreating this project at home, be sure to roll off any excess paint on a piece of paper towel. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed. Once the stencil was complete, they applied one coat of Watco Danish Oil by Rustoleum. For this project a walnut hue was chosen. The oil based stain will need several days to cure and after that time you can apply a coat of polycrylic sealer to increase durability. Are you ready for the big reveal?
