Stenciling A Guest Bedroom Floor With A Tile Pattern
Wall Stencils Give An Old Floor A Budget Friendly New Look
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends! If your floors have seen better days then a can of paint and one of our
floor stencils can do wonders! A
floor stencil is a budget friendly way to update an old floor. A
stencil pattern is a quick and easy solution to giving your floor a fresh new look. Today we’re going to share a guest bedroom floor makeover that was enhanced with our
Augusta Tile Stencil. Come take a look...
We'd like to introduce
Charma K., a creative DIYer, Cutting Edge Stencils fan, and blogger behind
Abandoned. In 2015, she bought a beautiful large farmhouse that sat neglected on the market for over a year. On her blog, she writes about her daily DIY adventures.
One of the spaces that she was updating was her guest bedroom. New flooring wasn't in the budget for the bedroom. Charma took to the web for inspiration and found a stenciled floor project by Livin the Life of Riley. She decided to attempt it in her guest bedroom. She browsed our large collection of
tile stencils and selected our
Augusta Tile Pattern. This beautiful pattern is based on traditional Portuguese Azulejos tile designs and has become very popular.
The first thing Charma did was clean her floor to ensure there wasn't any debris and then she painted two coats of paint in black. Cleaning and prepping the floor is key to completing a painted floor that will last for years. With her stencil in hand, she was ready to start
stenciling! She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern in white.
After each section was complete, Charma would un-tape the stencil and reposition so she could paint the entire floor.
Once the entire floor was stenciled, Charma applied a polyurethane sealer to increase durability.
Once the floor was complete, Charma wrapped up the other DIY projects in the room. She said, "The last update to the guest bedroom room was the AMAZING floor. I’m still in love with the floor but now the whole room has really come together." Let's take a look at her guest bedroom with newly stenciled floors!
We think she did an amazing job transforming a plywood floor using a stencil and paint. Don't you agree?
