Stencils Give Boring Furniture A Dash of Style
Furniture Stencils Can Make An Old Table Look Better Than New
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils friends!
One of the most rewarding and cost-effective decorating projects is reviving an old piece of furniture with a fresh coat of paint and a stencil. Our
furniture stencil patterns are a creative solution for updating a dated piece. Today we're excited to share two stenciled table projects, from our friends at
White Horse Home Furnishings, that are very inspiring. Let's take a look.
Geometric Stencils Freshen An Old Table
We'd like you to meet Nancy and Melissa, the creative minds behind the furniture restoration company. They inherited an old Queen Anne table that was worn and needed a little love. Since they love to refresh old pieces they were thrilled to tackle this project. They painted the tabletop in
Antique white stain and the legs in Old White by Annie Sloan. They chose to give the top a dose of personality using a pretty
trellis stencil pattern. After browsing our website, the
Tea House Trellis Allover was selected. They used painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and painted the large geometric pattern in white. The creative duo posted on Instagram, " I bought this stencil to use on a wall but I couldn't resist using it on the table. This was a lot of fun transforming the table to a more contemporary style. " We love how this geometric pattern looks on this Queen Anne table.
Flower Stencils Give A Vintage Table A Contemporary Look
Nancy and Melissa were quick to pick up their stencil brushes after finishing the last project. They stumbled on this Victorian table with leather tabletop sitting at this roadside. Rather than a piece of trash, they saw a piece of treasure. They painted the legs using
Country Chic Paint in Lazy Linen and then chose to add a pretty flower stencil to the top. They used painter's tape to hold the
Chrysanthemum Grande Flower Stencil in place and painted the flower patterns in
Country Chic Paint in Lazy Linen and Elegance. The creative team had this to say about the project, "This was the first time we painted leather. We think the flower stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils gave the table a new contemporary look. We think the flowers really add interest to the table. We love finding older pieces and giving them a new life. " We love the fresh take on this vintage piece!
Tell us, which stencil would you use to makeover an old piece of furniture? We'd love to read your thoughts in the comments below.
Can’t get enough stencil fun?
