Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Do you see that dresser sitting curbside? We're going to show you how to transform your old furniture into a designer accent using
furniture stencils.
All it takes is a little bit of creative thinking, paint, and a stencil to update your old piece. Today we're excited to share two stenciled dresser projects. Let's take a look.
Entwined Stenciled Dresser
We'd like to introduce you to Summer, the creative DIY blogger from
Urban Farmhouse Renovation. Summer lives in an old farmhouse with minimal storage space so she's always on the lookout for ways to improve this. Summer's husband was walking their dog when he spotted a beat-up dresser sitting curbside. They snatched up the would-be trash with plans to turn it into treasure. Summer sanded it down to remove the multiple layers of paint. She painted it blue using Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint. Rather than stop with a fresh coat of paint, she decided to give it a dose of personality using a furniture stencil. Summer selected the
Entwined Craft Stencil and painted the the pretty pattern a couple shades darker than the base coat. Summer had this to say about her stencil project " The pattern turned out nicely. It adds subtle detail without being overpowering. " Summer spent less than $40 in supplies and managed to create a stylish looking dresser. We bet you would have never guessed this piece was once sitting curbside!
Rabat Stenciled Dresser
We'd like you to meet Dinah, the creative DIY blogger behind
DIY Inspired. She scored a dresser from a friend who was moving. The wooden piece of furniture was very worn but functional. It had been previously handpainted but it wasn't Dinah's style. Rather than let this beauty get tossed to the curb, she decided to give it a makeover. She coated it with primer and then painted it mustard yellow. Dinah decided to kick her project up a notch and add a pretty stencil pattern to the front. She browsed our online stencil collection and fell in love with the
Rabat Craft Stencil. She used painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and painted the Moroccan furniture pattern in blue using a stencil. After the paint was dry, she added blue ceramic knobs and applied a coat of polycrylic. We love its one-of-a-kind look!
