Our Favorite Stencil Projects of 2015!
Cutting Edge Stencils Shares our Favorite Stenciled Projects for 2015!
Good morning, my
Cutting Edge Stencils fans. The blog is going on a bit of hiatus until 2016 so that we can spend a little extra time with our family and friends. Before we kick back and pass around the eggnog, we thought we'd take a stroll down memory lane to revisit some of our favorite stencil projects of 2015. It was a fabulous year that included the launch of several NEW stencil collections, hosted fun Paint-A-Pillow parties, and some impressive stencil sightings in major home decor magazines. We owe it all to you, our fabulous and loyal fans, who continue to support us. We can't begin to thank you enough and we look forward to a stencil-filled 2015!
Let's take a look at our 10 favorite projects of 2015...
10. Styling an Entry with the Symmetry Stencil:
Let's kick off this countdown with a bang! Brittany, from
Addison’s Wonderland, certainly wow'd us with this entry makeover. She painted her space Pageant Green by Behr and then stenciled it using the
Symmetry Allover Stencil in Anita’s Metallic Craft Paint in Classic Gold, Bronze, and White. Sophisticated and stylish, we can't get enough!
9. DIY Bone Inlay Painted Dresser Makeover:
Do you remember this stenciled beauty from earlier this year? Titti, the creative blogger behind
Shoestring Pavilion, spotted a beautiful bone inlay dresser for $2,500 on Anthropoligie and decided to recreate it using our
Indian Inlay Stencil Kit. Titti had this to say about her stencil project, “I really enjoyed the stencils and the end results are great!” We think the transformation is unbelievable!
8. A Harlequin Trellis Stenciled Bedroom
Over this past year we've noticed a subdued color trend leaning towards soothing grays and soft whites. We love this calm color scheme especially when it combines a pretty wall pattern. Carly Cristman, the fashion and lifestlyle blogger behind
Carly Cristman painted the
Harlequin Trellis Allover Stencil in Benjamin Moore simply white OC-117 and shoreline 1471.
7. A Marrakech Trellis Stenciled Wine Nook:
Cheers! To a new year and to this gorgeous wine nook stenciled by Justine, a designer and stylist behind the blog
Justine Celina. She stenciled this accent wall using our
Marrakech Trellis Allover Stencil. The wall was already painted using Benjamin Moore’s gallery buff CSP-225 and she stenciled this Moroccan pattern using
Rustoleum Metallic Accents Champagne. She commented, " I’m so happy with the results. The stencil was really easy to use.” We love that the metallic paint gives the tone on tone stencil a touch of glam.
7. Spruce Up Your Deck With Stencils:
From decks to patios, 2015 was the year for many fans to take the leap and add a pattern to their exterior. Heather, from
The Heathered Nest, stenciled our
Perfect Catch Allover Stencil across her backyard deck using a cerulean blue hue. You should pin this one so you can come back and complete it later!
5. A Herringbone Brick Stenciled Kitchen Backsplash
Number four proved that stencils make a great substitute for tile. Anne, the creative DIYer from
White Lace Cottage hand painted this stunning kitchen backsplash using our
Herringbone Brick Allover Stencil. She confesses that she loves the new look by saying, ” I love the texture that I created, it really looks and feels like real brick! I love the imperfect shape of some of these bricks, and that was due to the venetian texture medium that I used.”
4. Patterned Floors: Stenciled to Perfection!
Now here is a stencil project that really swept us off our feet! Riptide Finishes brought to life this beach style bedroom with a bold navy and white
Herringbone Allover stenciled floor.
3. This Old House Features Our Stencils
This Old House Magazine has been very kind to Cutting Edge Stencils this year. First up, our
Tribal Arrows Allover Stencil was spotted in their 2015 Idea House (Cottage at Cloudland Station) It is their first built-from-the-ground-up Idea House in a
Southern Living Inspired Community in Chickamauga, Georgia. They note, “A stenciled design of turquoise arrows above the wainscot of black penny-round tile is a practical alternative to wallpaper in the upstairs hall bath.”
2. Paint-A-Pillow Makes This Old House Magazine's Top 100 List
Then
Paint-A-Pillow makes the Top 100 List in the fifth annual
This Old House Magazine's list of the 100 best new home products for the year. It was truly an honor to be included in such a prestigious list!
